The SF Chronicle is now $1. WTH!

I remember going to the movies on Friday afternoons back in 1996. I used to collect the ticket stubs so I could remember what movies I had seen. Movie ticket prices back then were around $7. People during that decade would usually buy the San Francisco Chronicle if they wanted to see a particular movie. It was 25 cents. How cheap!
2005- Prices increased thanks to former Republican Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger deciding to give more money to jails and increase college tuitions. As for movie-goers, People were lucky if they bought tickets before 12pm at $7. Ticket prices would increase after midday.

I finally bought the San Francisco Chronicle a month ago after realizing that it now costs 25 cents more. The week prior I failed to notice. Now I'm thinking: What the hell is going on? How much money does the government need? Like students at one of the elementary schools I attended, ruled by an authoritarian principal, we as citizens of SF cannot do anything about the price increases! SF Chronicle is privately-owned.
My brother came over the following week. I told him about the Chronicles' price-increase. "The business is losing customers?"More like technology is taking over, putting companies that print out the news daily/monthly out of business.
What should I do? keep buying the Chronicle each day or read the news on SFgate.com/my iPhone? I have resided to only buying it a few days a week, usually reading it on my computer. Prior to that I had considered repurchasing the newspaper on my mom's iPad, but I had a Debit Card.
Move along!
