Comic Book Movies Nowadays: Man of Steel

From the 1970s-1990s, movies based on comic book heroes used to go off on tangents never once notifying the audience about how exactly, let's say, Batman, started off his war on crime in Gotham City. The only things Batman showed from the comics is that Wayne's parents were murdered and that Joker is sneaky. Spawn is the only exception because the movie, which came out in 1997, showed how the main character became a hero after his boss sent him to do one last job.
These movies took a different turn in 2005, when Batman Begins hit theaters, telling audiences how he came to be, therefore proving that the screenwriter(s) had done their research. Plus, Batman is more realistic as opposed to movies from years prior where he has faced off against The Penguin, and Bane. (Penguin is a far-fetched character! I know Bane's origin from reading No Man's Land) The same went on to happen with The Amazing Spider-Man, Iron Man, and coming this summer Superman in . . . Man of Steel!!

I started to read DC Comics back in 2005 after having seen Batman Begins. It was titled Batman: Year One. I continued reading those graphic novels on and off. I haven't read many Superman books, but after seeing the Batman Trilogy and Spider-Man reboot, I can tell that I don't have to fret- The screenwriters did their research!

Last summer I saw the Man of Steel teaser http://www.movie-list.com/trailers.php?id=manofsteel. I hate how these teaser trailer, the initial 60-seconds, leaves viewers wanting more. That's what it is- A thin slice of Pumpkin pie that leaves the taste-tester wanting more. Now review the pie!  Fortunately, 60 seconds is enough time to get viewers ready for what's to come. Superman never uses any of his superpowers such as laser-eyes, or icey-breath, much less flying skyward. And I do expect to be astonished from what's possible in the real world! come June 14!
