My answer is a Screenwriting Contest
All through my college career I've been thinking about movies. What makes a good movie? How long does it take to make one?
In 2002 I bought a computer game I had noticed at the Electronics Boutique, now known as Game Stop, "Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project." The store sells video games for all systems. I used to rarely buy game at that store like "Doom II" and "Grand Theft Auto." Fun games, but my experience buying video games was always that whenever you bought any kind of video game you would think it was the next best thing, until you beat the game and put it aside.
The next year while I was in church on a Sunday I kept focusing on my subconscious. Finally I realized that I should write a screenplay based on Duke Nukem.
In November 2006 I signed a contract with an agent, not knowing that my script would never be made into a movie. Now that my "contract" is about to expire and I haven't heard anything from him, I think I will enter a screenwriting contest.
I've found a familiar movie company in The City that I am considering handing my script to for next year's contest. The script has been edited by a friend I knew back in high school. However, I've kept adding to the script. I think I will give my script to another high school homie, Alfonso, who is in the film industry as a cinematographer. I need a professional like him to look over my script before I hand it into Zoetrope for the contest in June of next year.
I might ask him to read over what I have done so far for another script I've been working on since 2007: "RoboCop Vs. Terminator." After Duke Nukem has been edited and is ready to rock, I'll show him what I have done for "Duke Nukem II" so far.
Time to show you what I'm all about! HOO-AH!
