"Identity Thief" Vs. My life
"It is easier to believe a lie that you have heard a thousand times, than the truth that you have only heard once."
I saw "Identity Thief" a week ago today, a movie that not only made me laugh, but also made me realize why my parents have always told me to always say "John Smith isn't here. Can I take a message?" each time I receive a random call, people calling out of the blue to inform us that we won/quality for something. Even my brother still tells me not to give out personal information. (I have ADD, and so do both of my parents)!
"Identity Thief" is about a hardworking, family man with a female name, Sandy Patterson, who is about to have another child. But somewhere in the state Florida is a short woman who has been stealing peoples' identities for, well, for the fun of it! The role of the woman is played by Melissa McCarthy, whom, if you saw "Bridesmaids," steals the show. Too bad she hasn't starred in many comedies after that movie! Each scene she's in is either funny or hilarious!
What happens at the start of the movie is what could have happened if I had given away my personal information. Thankfully, whenever asked for personal data, I start to get the feeling that I'm being duped, so that's when I give an excuse, like everyone else does! Ex: "I'm sick," "I have better things to do!"
